Elizabeth Borowsky (b. 1983) has achieved international recognition as an outstanding artist of her generation. She began her piano studies at age four. At seven, she performed her debut recital in Baltimore. By the age of nine, she was invited to perform concerts internationally and was received enthusiastically by audiences in Bulgaria, Poland, and Germany. In the years since, Elizabeth has performed concerts and recitals—some of which were nationally or internationally broadcast—in major concert halls in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East; taken part in prestigious music festivals; and recorded several CDs of solo and chamber music works for ICRecords (Pearls of Music, Musical Favorites of All Times, Music for Peace, and Chopin Recital).

Elizabeth hails from an exceptionally musical family. Her mother is a cellist and professor and her father has used music as a tool in pursuing international relations. She frequently performs together with her brother (violinist Emmanuel Borowsky) and sister (cellist Frances Grace Borowsky). Together, they are called "The Young American Virtuosi." In 2004, they were awarded the Erick Friedman Prize for Outstanding Young Musicians and performed a New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall.

She has received numerous awards and prizes, including the Kosciuszko Foundation Graduate Scholarship, International Young Artists Award, International Music Talent Award, the Heidelberg Grand Prix, Best '99 CD Prize (for "Pearls of Music"), Pro Sinfonika Award for Promoting Classical Music Among Youth (Poland),Chopin Foundation of the United States Scholarship for Young Pianists (four times; 2000-2003), Merit Award from the U. S. National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (2001), and the Cultural Achievement Award from the Middle East Consortium of the International Friends of Music. She has been a laureate and finalist of music competitions in the USA and abroad. In 2006, she was among the competitors accepted to the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. The Polish recording label Acte Preable presented her with a special prize for her interpretations of Chopin, and she recorded a CD of Chopin's music while in Poland (Chopin Recital, ICRecords 2006). Most recently, she was awarded an Artist-in-Residence grant by the Heidelberg Arts Council (Germany).

Elizabeth has performed as a soloist in such distinguished venues as Carnegie Hall (New York), Boesendorfer Hall (Vienna), the Beethoven House (Bonn), Strathmore Hall (Bethesda, MD), and the Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.). She has taken part in such prestigious festivals as the International Festival of Music and Architecture in Torun (2004); Klavierwoche International (2004), Heidelberg Klavierwoche (1998 and 2006), Music at the Paderewski Manor (2001), the Maryland Arts Festival (2001), and the International Music Institute and Festival USA (annually since 2003). In 2000, she performed as soloist and together with renowned musicians Erick Friedman and Theresa Kubiak at UNESCO International Conference on Local Music Heritage in the Age of Globalization (Amman, Jordan) as well as accompanied her brother during his performance in the World Child Prodigies Concert. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras in the USA and Poland, including the Lublin Philarmonic Orchestra, Polish Camerata, and Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra. Her live performance of the Haydn D-Major Concerto with the Polish Camerata was broadcast by Pol-Sat TV.

She has also earned a reputation as a talented composer. Her work, "Let Us Go to Jerusalem, the City of Peace" (dedicated to the youth of the Middle East) was premiered by the King David String Ensemble of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra at the Embassy of Israel in Washington D.C. on February 6, 2003. She was honored with the Jerusalem Medal. A skilled improviser, Elizabeth sometimes concludes concerts with an improvisation.

Elizabeth has been mentored by renowned pianists and teachers including Andrzej Jasinski, Ann Schein, Ward Davenny, Krystian Zimerman, Leon Fleisher, Veronika Jochum, Piotr Paleczny, Maria Kolakowska-Schweiger, and Joanna Lawrynowicz. In the Spring of 2004, she was the recipient of a scholarship from the Maryland International Education Association for studies with Yonty Solomon at Trinity College of Music (London). She is a summa cum laude graduate of Towson University (Bachelor of Music), where she studied with Reynaldo Reyes, and recently received her Master's Degree from Indiana University - Bloomington, where she studied with Arnaldo Cohen and taught as an Assistant Instructor.

Elizabeth's enthusiasm for music and people is clearly visible both on- and off- the concert stage. She is an enthusiastic teacher and gifted mentor who enjoys sharing her musical experiences with young people. She has frequently performed at schools and community centers in the US and abroad. She has given masterclasses in Europe and Asia, and has been on the faculty of the International Music Institute and Festival USA since 2003.

Most recently, she performed Pre-Olympic concerts in China under the theme "One World-One Dream-One Family."
